“Alaska and Part of British America./”The Yukon Gold Fields and routes by which they are reached.” From The Twentieth Century Peerless Atlas and Pictorial Gazeteer of all Lands. Springfield, Ohio: Crowell Publishing Co., 1903. 12 1/2 x 18 3/4. Cerograph. Very good condition.
A detailed and attractively presented map of Alaska with part of the Yukon Territory. The map was issued by the Crowell Publishing Company, the successor to the Mast, Crowell & Kirkpatrick firm which copyrighted the image. Some topography is clearly presented, along with towns, and rivers. Of particular interest is the depiction of the Yukon gold fields and the routes used to access them from southern Alaska. The map was issued shortly after the main part of the gold rush (1896-99), but when there was still some activity there and interest in the dramatic events that took place there.
