“Rand McNally Popular Map of Canal Zone.” From Rand McNally World Atlas. Chicago: Rand, McNally & Co., 1927. Cerograph. 12 1/2 x 9. Very good condition.
A very interesting map of the Panama canal zone issued in the third decade of the twentieth century. Rand McNally by then had established itself as the leading American map maker and their maps are known for their copious data presented clearly. This map shows the canal just over a decade after it opened, and includes a profile of the canal at the bottom.
