A stirring tribute to the Klondike Gold Rush in Alaska and Western Canada. Alex Levy (1881-1947) was born in Bonn, Germany, immigrated to the United States in 1884, and studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy with Frank Duveneck and at the New York School of Fine Art with William Merritt Chase. He participated in numerous art activities throughout the United States in the nineteen twenties and thirties while working as an illustrator, commercial artist and painter in the Buffalo and Rochester areas of New York State.
