“Asher & Adams’ Minnesota.” Washington: Asher & Adams, 1872. 22 1/2 x 16. Lithograph. Original hand color. Very good condition.
An original antique map of Minnesota by Asher & Adams, a Washington cartographic publisher of similar, though smaller, output to Mitchell and Johnson. Their atlases were focused on the railroads which were being built all around the country in the post-Civil War period and the large format of their maps makes them easy to study. This map is typical of their output, with counties, towns, lakes, rivers, and especially the railroads clearly presented.
