A number of publications were issued during the Civil War which included detailed engravings showing the battles and other events of the war. This fine engraving comes from J.T. Headley’s account of the war issued beginning in 1862. It shows General Lyon leading a charge at the battle of Wilson’s Creek, one result of which was his death.
