This print is from a marvelous set of 24 images published for The Barkalow Brothers in Denver. Barkalow arranged the publication of a number of interesting books and sets comprised of colorful and noteworthy views around Colorado in the late 19th and early 20th century. Many of these were in cooperation with the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, and featured areas accessible only by rail (or on foot) at the time. Bird’s – Eye views of the significant towns were also a notable inclusion in their publications. These images provide a pleasing perspective to the Colorado mystique of the early 1900’s.
