Charles Magnus. “Topographical Map of Virginia between Washington and Manassas Junction.” New York: Charles Magnus, 1865 ca. 9 x 7 1/2. Lithograph. Very good condition.
A wonderful topographical map of northern Virginia from just after the Civil War, enhanced by a view of the Capitol and Washington at the top. Made by esteemed New York mapmaker Charles Magnus, this map shows the topographical details of the area between the nation’s Capitol and Manassas Junction. This small area was home to some of the most important battles of the Civil War, such as the First and Second Battles of Bull Run. A charming and interesting map.
