“Clason’s Auto Route Map of Colorado.” Chicago & Denver: The Clason Map Co., ca. 1920s. Folded into original covers. Cerograph with printed color. 8 1/4 x 11. Excellent condition.
A folding “auto route” map of Colorado issued in the early twentieth century. These maps, issued by the Clason Map Company, featured the best routes for auto touring in the state, the major routes printed in red over the underlying topographical image. These maps were intended to be given out by automobile related businesses, whose name and advertisements were included on the paper covers. In this case the map was “Compliments of Norton’s Auto Livery.”
