“Gray’s Atlas New Railroad Map of Michigan 1873.” Philadelphia: O.W. Gray, 1873. 23 x 16. Lithograph. Original hand color. Repair of separation at center fold at sides. Very good condition.
A nicely detailed map of Michigan by the Philadelphia firm of O.W. Gray. The firm began its publishing around mid-century and published regional and U.S. atlases up to the 1880s, first as O.W. Gray and then O.W. Gray & Son. This map is typical of their work, presenting the latest information available with precise detail and with attractive hand color. This particular map was issued to show the state of the railroad network in the state at the time.
