“Wisconsin.” Philadelphia: O.W. Gray & Son, 1876. 14 3/4 x 12. Lithograph. Original color. Very good condition.
A nicely detailed map of the state by the Philadelphia firm of O.W. Gray and Son. The firm began its publishing around mid-century and published regional and U.S. atlases up to the 1880s. This map shows Wisconsin in the decade following the end of the Civil War. This map accurately shows the states’s cities and counties, as well as other interesting elements such as railroads. A charming and colorful map of the state.
