Description
An 1880 map of the Egyptian territories of the Mohammed Ali Dyntasty. This dynasty, named for its founder Mohammed Ali Pasha, conquered the Sudan, Syria and much of Arabia in the chaos that followed the Napoleonic Wars. This map shows the situation in East Africa bordering the Red Sea, a place of much political upheaval, slave trading and colonial battles. A fascinating map of the region.
