An attractive and detailed map of Japan from A. J. Johnson’s mid-nineteenth century atlas of the world. Johnson, who published out of New York City, built a very successful business producing popular atlases, geographies and so on. This map, shows fine detail of the islands, with an inset of Yesso and the Kuriles. Also includes an inset of the Bay of Nagasaki.
