An idyllic view of Ireland, showing the Lakes of Killarney. Along with the influx of Irish immigrants to the United States in the mid Nineteenth Century, came an influx of sentimental depictions of the country targeted to the newly displaced, and homesick, Irish. This particular print was done by a lesser known publisher, Mrs. Kelly of New York City. Every building, island, even the racetracks, are all indicated and numbered. It’s a loving reminder of a beautiful part of Ireland.
