A Sharp Bite: humorous fishing print

“A Sharp Bite.”  London: THomas McLean, ca. 1840.  5 3/4 x 8.  Aquatints.  Rich, original hand color.  Very good condition.

One of a series of humorous British prints showing fishing, published by Thomas McLean in the first half of the nineteenth century.  The prints, done with very fine quality aquatinting, illustrate in a satirical manner the methods, costumes and equipment used in fishing by the British of that period.  The fun and foibles are classic!
