“Gen’l Sherman’s Grand March Through Georgia.” Chicago: R.R. Landon, ca. 1864. Lithograph. Original hand color. 8 x 12. Wide margins with some staining. Repaired tear into image. Still, strong appearance.
A popular print of the Civil War. These prints, issued by such firms as Currier & Ives and the Kelloggs, helped to fullfil the public demand for images of the war. While not based on first-hand drawings, these prints did provide the American public with one of their main sources of visual images of the war.
