A contemporary broadside print of the Statue of Liberty issued to commemorate this French gift to the United States.  The October 28, 1886 dedication of this stirring monument to liberty created much excitement and interest around the country, and many prints like this were issued for people to share or hang in this homes or offices.  Few of these separately issued prints have survived and this is a lovely example of the type.  A view of New York City, with the Brooklyn Bridge, is included and the bay is shown teeming with ships of various sorts.
