Poster for the [New York] Subway Sun. New York: Interborough Rapid Transit Company, 1928. Screen print in two colors. 16 x 21. Printed by Stirlip Press. Twice folded as issued. Very good condition.
A poster arguing for a fare increase on the New York trolley lines. The poster says that an increase to seven cents was fare, as the fares had been set at six cents since the Civil War, and an increase of one cent in sixty years should not be considered too much. To deny the fare increase would “stifle” transit development.
