A charming series of Art Nouveau images and text by Walter Crane, showing personifications of flowers. Crane is one of the best known British children’s artists of the nineteenth century. He trained as a print engraver and then studied Japanese prints, medieval illustration of the works of the Pre- Raphaelites. The images are of female and male figures dressed as flowers and with poems, by Crane, related to flowery activities like processions, dances and weddings. Charming images.
